So we kick off our fifth episode with our third dalliance with the Canon film franchise of franchises – American Ninja. This time it’s American Ninja III – BLOODHUNT! We get a new American Ninja, sorry new The American Ninja and he is on an island (of course he is) squaring off against a man who is determined to do something about inefficient hijacking. Fret not Curtis Jackson is still here.

Following the cinematic masterclass we return to the world of literature. Ralph Reads Star Trek sees us turn our attention to an exciting new trilogy of novels -  Star Trek: Prometheus. The first book Fire with Fire by Bernd Perplies and Christian Humberg. Where according to the cover blurb a mysterious terrorist organization has carried out several attacks against the Federation and Klingon Empire. Tensions are running high in a region already crippled by conflict. The perpetrators are tracked to the Lembatta Cluster, a mysterious region of space whose inhabitants, the Renao, regard the the Alpha Quadrant’s powers as little more than conquering tyrants. The Federation are desperate to prevent more bloodshed, and have sent their most powerful warship, the U.S.S. Prometheus, into the Cluster to investigate the threat before all-consuming war breaks out.

Uncanny Oxfam and Ebay Gum take a rest this episode as we dip our feet into the murky waters of Doctor Who spin-offs. No, not the books, or DWM. We speak of the filmed Doctor Who spin-offs from BBV video and take a look at The Airzone Solution – written by Nicholas Briggs and directed by Bill Baggs. Starring Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant, Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy and Jon Pertwee.  What did Andy think of it, as he had never seen it and more importantly what did Susie the dog think of it?

Listen on and find out.
